Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Seshadri Rao Gudlavalleru Engineering College organized “Inaugural Ceremony of IEEE Power and Energy Society Student Branch Chapter” On 18th December 2021. With I, II and IV B.Tech students as participants, the seminar aimed to introduce the students to an important part of IEEE membership. Dr. G. Kishore Babu, IEEE SB Faculty Advisor, Associate Professor of EEE initiated the event with an inspirational speech. Dr. B. Dasu, Head of the Department of EEE went onto demonstrate the agenda of IEEE Power and Energy Society Student Branch Chapter”. He told how students will be benefited from this Student Chapter on their way to becoming an expert in their field. Dr. M. Kamaraju, IEEE SB Counsellor, Professor and Mentor of ECE addressed the students and motivated them to take the membership in the IEEE SB chapter. He narrated how the students may improve the academic performance with this membership which gives access to the world’s most comprehensive source of electrical and electronics publications, specialized books, conference records and published standards. Dr. P. Kodanda Rama Rao, Principal In-charge and Vice Principal Administration addressed the gathering and congratulated the entire team of IEEE SB Chapter executive committee members of EEE Department for establishing the SB chapter in the college. He conveyed his best wishes on this occasion. Mr. Venkateswara Rao Eegapati, Deputy Country Head, TCS, Financial Solutions, Beijing, China, Chief Guest of the Inaugural ceremony congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the team for establishing the IEEE SB Chapter in the EEE Department of SRGEC. He told that IEEE provides the best technical information in the world and your membership entitles you to low member prices on all of it. IEEE has created a set of benefits specifically targeted for students in order to fill the void and increase the positive experience for students. The event was concluded by presenting the chief guest Mr. Venkateswara Rao Eegapati with a token of appreciation from entire EEE Department who graced the event with his presence.
